RS Vikram is a Music Composer and Flautist from Chennai. Though his initiation to musical journey was with the Keyboard at the age of 13, his love for flute led him to take up the instrument with soulful dedication, later gaining status as his primary instrument. He is considered adept in both Western and Indian streams of music.
He has completed his preparatory course in Music Composition at the renowned KM Music Conservatory (AR Rahman’s Music College) and has worked in many movies in the Tamil film Industry as a flautist, as an arranger, and as an additional programmer. Some of his notable works are ‘Maharaja’, ‘Indian 2’ etc, and his skill for improving and enriching melodies is widely appreciated in the industry.
Vikram has also performed numerous concerts as part of the popular Indian fusion band, “YAAZHI” and is also an integral part of an ensemble called “Urupanar”, which plays ancient Tamil musical instruments. His professional ambit also extends to musical theatre, where he has performed numerous plays with famed Drama theatres in Chennai. Vikram’s passion also extends to teaching music (having trained over 20+ students) and researching the similitude between Indian and Western classical music streams, and he dedicates much time to both causes.
